I plowed through the 600 odd pages on Steve Job's biography. I'd seen it translated in Indonesian, and a professor at a University in Jakarta implored me to read it. "He's a closed universe," I told him. Maybe I had a closed mind, so with the benefit of a doubt, I downloaded it. I was impressed.

If you can skim over the 'official' biographer bit, you might read between the lines what an arseole and visionary Jobs was. If you want an expanded version of a Wiki entrance on Jobs, then read this book. I was fascinated with the coup against Steve and how he reinvented himself with Next and Pixar. Yet I felt that something was amiss. The best quote from the book was when Job's friend and family came over to visit him on his death bead, and Job's last words were: "Oh, wow, oh Wow!"

There will be better books to come out on Jobs. And I'm sure an army of Apple lawyers will want to maintain the image that Jocobson has endearingly created. On the technical side, it's interesting how Jobs merged software and hard ware. You can really appreciate the genius of Job's team in getting products such as the iPod and Iphone together. But you are left, thinking, there must be so much more to Jobs. I felt that his enlightening period, on his trip to India, and his acid taking days, was interesting but could have been expanded.

I'm sure hidden in Steve's draws, amongst pictures of his adopted family is a manuscript he wants to get published one day, once a biographer truly tarnishes his image with hard hitting facts on the real Jobs.
