Would have given three stars if not for the last few chapters- if you read nothing else, read the legacy chapter. I concur with the NY Times assessment that this bio should be required reading; however, I find Isaacson's prose rather lacking. The text reads more like a concise business journal article or comp sci manual than it does a true biography. The first third is rather good as are the last few chapters. Isaacson is prone to getting pulled into the weeds, offering too much information about the products themselves and not enough about their development/legacy/importance to tech development. Isaacson can also be redundant at times in his assessment of Jobs. Overall, though, Job's story is a compelling read that offers a lot for all of us to learn. While I've never been able to afford an Apple product, I do believe the world would be better off if more of our top companies were as product driven and innovative as Apple. I'll end my assessment with the hope that someone else comes along someday with a better-written biography on Jobs.
