I've been a fan of Apple's products ever since the early 1990's, to the point that my son refers to me as an "iSheep"! But I have to say, the Apple shares I own have certainly done well. I received this book as a Christmas present, and it's been most enlightening on why I've been so attracted to the products that Steve Jobs envisioned. He believed in a closed system where the end user's overall experience was controlled by the product designer; he valued simplicity in products, and he pushed for product designs that manifested the best of both art and engineering. But in many ways, he was not at all a nice person.
Steve Jobs believed that he succeeded in creating a company whose DNA incorporated those beliefs. It remains to be seen whether Apple continues on the same path, turning out products that people didn't even know they wanted or needed, or whether it becomes another Microsoft, IBM, or HP.
