I really enjoyed reading this book as a look in to recent history. I went in to it expecting to gain a new appreciation for Jobs, which I did. But I also took away an appreciation for how terrible he was as a person. I am reminded in some ways of Bobby Fischer who was unquestionably the best at what he did, but at great cost to his personality in general.

I'm not convinced it needs to be that way, but then again I am also wondering why other people seem to be unable to raise the bar so high and quickly very often. As I said, I definitely have an appreciation after reading this.

One last note, I suspected this book would hold back on criticizing jobs since it was endorsed by him, but if anything Isaacson did the complete reverse. And as it happens Jobs never even had a chance to read it.

My last comment here will be what I mentioned about it on facebook: "Just finished reading the Steve jobs biography. Fantastic read! But I couldn't figure out if Steve was the hero or the villain.|
