Steve Jobs

I've never been much of an Apple user. My wife has always used different Mcintosh products and is a designer, I am not. I was never part of the Steve Jobs cult. I may seem an odd reader of his biography. I found this quite an interesting read though and appreciate the warts and all approach Isaacson took with Jobs. He pulled no punches and showed at times, in both his business and personal life, Jobs could be a real asshole. He also illustrated Jobs' blind ambition to create and design really beautiful, minimalistic products that people could use. I learned more about design from Jobs in this book than I did in any of the art classes I took. I now have a real understanding of how important Jobs was to Apple. I don't think the Apple watch would have ever happened if he was still at the helm. Isaacson's writing style isn't my favorite but he presents a fascinating subject and mostly stays out of the way of the story. If you love design or are interested in a really great American success story, this is a must read.
