The word that kept coming to mind as I was reading this book was "fascinating." Steve jobs was a fascinating person. A genius who did way more than just create Apple (a company that started in his parents garage and became the most valuable company in the world), but also Pixar, changed the music industry, personal computers, music listening devices, mobile phones, tablets, syncing devices in the cloud and on it goes. The fact that he cared more about making great products than making money is compelling in our modern business culture. The story of all that he did in his short life is mind-blowing. A genius that had clear flaws, struggled in his personal relationships, and also lacked ability to show empathy or compassion. Yet, I was drawn to his story and the book ended with me being deeply saddened that he is gone. Also, I was saddened by his understanding that life is bigger than just what we see, yet according to the book, he died never coming to peace with what that was. I loved this book for the in depth look at Steve's story, the story of Apple, and the unfiltered look at the person behind the genius.
