This is a big book, and there was a lot going on in my life while I was reading it, so it took me quite a while and at times I lost the thread of events in Jobs's life and in Apple's life as a corporation. But I was left with a strong impression of Jobs. His lifelong focus was on making products that brought the human side to technology, objects that were beautiful as well as useful and that people could use intuitively.

We took a trip to visit some Frank Lloyd Wright architecture while I was reading it, and the similarity between Jobs and FLlW struck me. Both were geniuses, and sure of their genius; both focused on the primacy of design in technical fields, sometimes to the detriment of the product; both could be difficult to get along with, took advantage of some people, and treated some others badly; both had early success, a period in the wilderness, and renewed success later in life.

Not having known much about Jobs, it surprised me that he had such business acumen. His relations with individuals aside, he made sound business decisions and turned Apple into one of the foremost companies in the world, changing the way several industries operate and creating new ones, from computing to music, photography, communications, and retailing. He will certainly stand as one of the most creative and innovative people of our time.
