Comprehensive biography of Steve Jobs, founder of Apple. The book was a bit repetitive, but portrayed the poles of Jobs' personality extremely well. On one hand, Jobs was a perfectionist, an artist and capable of changing technology and the way it works in the world. The Mac, the Ipod, Iphone, and Ipad were wonders of streamlined technology. In this respect Jobs was a visionary. However, the personal rudeness and castigation of friends, associates, acquaintances and even his children was hard to accept. Many of the employees and associates who were castigated by Jobs in public, wondered if they would have been able to do what they thought could not be done without Jobs' harsh criticism. And yet, I must wonder what my daughter has said to me, "All I needed was a pat on the back or a kind word and I would have gone to the ends of the earth to complete the task." An interesting discussion in my mind-what is the best way to motivate people to do their best?
