COMMERCE Public Support for Coastal Zone Management Programs: The Implementation of the A Report by the Coastal Zone DEPARTMENT OF 455.2 National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration C63/6 COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE The Coastal Zone Management Advisory Committee was established by the Coastal Zone Management Act of 1972 to make policy recommendations to the Secretary of Commerce. The Committee Charter states that the Committee should provide assistance on public understanding, proposed legislation, Federal activities, and the administration of the act. The Advisory Committee is an independent citizens panel which consists of eleven conservationists, State government personnel, business executives, and environmentalists who represent a variety of occupations in coastal states around the nation.
