MAP showing the Route of the proposed Gulf Coast and Florida Peninsula Canal and its outlets to the Atlantic Ocean; also, the Navigable Rivers--27,000 miles-connected by the work and tributary to it. Compiled to accompany the Report upon the subject by the Southern Commercial Convention held in Cincinnati, October, 1870. Vide Folios 105 to 114

MEMORANDA. This improvement will save 800 miles in distance and the sea risks of 1,500 miles through the most hazardous waters of the Atlantic Coast, and give to the boating interest of the West the carrying trade through to the Atlantic without change of bottoms and without breaking bulk.
