BSTRACT (A 200-word or less factual summary of most significant information. If document includes a significant bliography or literature survey, mention it here.)

is is a construction guide and operators manual for a laser scanner built for miconductor device studies. A very brief discussion of the theory of operation the scanner is given. The scanner's operation from a systems point of view is scribed in detail with emphasis on block diagrams. The scanner is described from hardware point of view with a detailed description of the function of the various ntrols on the electronic equipment that was built for the laser scanner. A quick ide for the use of the scanner is given so that a person unfamiliar with the inrument can use it effectively. Specifications relating to the scanner's data thering ability are also given. Mechanical drawings and circuit schematics are ven to enable others to build a similar scanner. The optics and their alignment e discussed. Various display modes including color are discussed to enhance erator viewing.
