Chap. xx. 11 And I gave them my ftatutes, and thewed them my judgments, which if a man do he thall even live in them.

12 Moreover alfo I gave them my fabbaths, to be a fign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that fanétify them.

13 But the houfe of Ifrael rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my ftatutes, and they defpifed my judgments, which if a man do, he thall even five in them: and my fabbaths they greatly polluted: then I faid, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to confume them.

14 But I wrought for my name's fake, that it thould not be polluted before the heathen, in whose fight I brought them out.

15 Yet alfo I lifted up my hand unto them in the wildernefs, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, Howing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

16 Because they defpifed my judgments, and walked not in my ftatutes, but polluted my fabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

17 Nevertheless mine eye fpared them from destroying them, neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness.

18 But I faid unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the ftatutes of your fathers, neither obferve their judg. ments, nor defile yourselves with their idols: 19 I am the LORD your God; walk in my ftatutes, and keep my judgments, and do

them;

20 And hallow my fabbaths; and they fhall be a fign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the LORD your God,

21 Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my ftatutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he thail even live in them; they polluted my fabbaths: then I faid, would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

22 Nevertheless, 1 withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name's fake, that it fhould not be polluted in the fight of the hea. then, in whofe fight I brought them forth.

23 I lifted up mine hand unto them alfo in the wilderness, that I would fcatter them among the heathen, and difperfe them through the countries.

24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had defpifed my ftatutes, and had polluted my fabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols.

25 Wherefore I gave them alfo ftatutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should nor live;

26 And 1 polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caufed to pass through the fire all that openéth the womb, that I might make them defolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.

27 Therefore, fon of man, fpeak unto the houfe of Ifrael, and fay unto them, Thus faith the Lord GOD; Yet in this your fathers have blafphemed me, in that they have com. mitted a trefpafs against me.

28 For when I had brought them into the land, for the which I lifted up mine hand to give it to them, then they law every high

to gather them. hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered there their facrifices, and there they prefent. ed the provocation of their offering: there alfo they made their sweet favour, and poured out there their drink offerings.

29 Then I faid unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the game thereof is called Baman unto this day.

30 Wheretore fay unto the houfe of If rael, Thus faith the Lord Goo; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers and commit ye whoredom after their abominations!

31 For when ye offer your gifts, when ye make your fons to pafs through the fire, ye pollute yourselves with all your idols, even unto this day: and thall I be enquired of by you, O houfe of Ifrael? As I live, faith the Lord God, I will not be enquired of by you.

32 And that which cometh into your mind fhall not be at all, that ye fay, We will be as the heathen, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and ftone.

33 As I live, faith the Lord God, furely with a mighty hand, with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you:

34 And I will bring you out from the peo ple, and will gather you out of the coun tries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out.

35 And I will bring you into the wilder nefs of the people, and there will I plead with

you face to face.

36 Like as I pleaded with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, fo will I plead with you, faith the Lord GOD.

37 And I will caufe you to pafs under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant:

38 And I will purge out from among you the rebels, and them that tranfgrefs againft me: I will bring them forth out of the coun try where they fojourn, and they shall not enter into the land of Ifrael: and ye thall know that I am the LORD.

39 As for you, O houfe of Ifrael, thus faith the Lord GoD; Go ye, ferve ye every one his idols, and hereafter alfo, if ye will not hearken unto me: but pollute ye my holy name no more with your gifts, and with your idols.

40 For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Ifrael, faith the Lord GoD, there fhalf all the houfe of Ifrael, all of them in the land, ferve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firit fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things.

41 I will accept you with your sweet favour, when I bring you out from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been fcattered; and I will be fanctified in you before the heathen.

42 Ard ye thall know that I am the LORD, when I fhall bring you into the land of Ifrael, into the country for the which 1 lifted up mine hand to give it to your fathers.

43 And there fhall ye remember your ways, and all your doings, wherein ye have been defiled; and ye hall lothe yourselves in your own fight for all your evils that ye have commited,

EZEKIEL.

44 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have wrought with you for my name's take, not according to your wicked ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O ye house of Ifracl, faith the Lord Gon.

45 Moreover, the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

40 Son of man, fet thy face toward the fouth, and drop thy word toward the fouth, and prophefy against the forest of the fouth held;

47 And fay to the foreft of the fouth, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus faith the Lord GOD; Behold I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree; the flaming flame thall not be quenched, and all faces from the fouth to the north fhall be burned therein.

48 And all fleth thall fee that I the LORD have kindled it: it fhall not be quenched. 49 Then faid 1, Ah Lord GOD! they fay of me, Doth he not fpeak parables?

CHAP. XXI.

Ezekiel prophefieth against Ferufalem. 8 The harp and bright sword.

A

ND the word of the LORD came unto
me, faying,

2 Son of man, fet thy face toward Jerufalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophefy against the land of Ifrael,

3 And fay to the land of Ifrael, Thus faith the Logn; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my fword out of his flieath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore fhall my fword go forth out of his theath against all fleth from the fouth to the north:

5 That all fleth may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my word out of his theath: it thall not return any more.

6 Sigh therefore, thou fon of man, with the breaking of thy loins and with bitternefs figh before their eyes.

7 And it thall be, When they fay unto thee, Wherefore figheft thou that thou shalt anfwer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart thall melt, and all hands fhall be feeble, and every fpirit thall faint, and all knees thall be weak as water: behold it cometh, and thall be brought to pafs, faith the Lord Gon.

8 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

9 Son of man, prophefy, and fay, Thus faith the LORD; Say, A fword, a fword is tharpen ed, and alfo furbished:

10 It is tharpened to make a fore flaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter should we then make mirth? It contemneth the rod of my fon, as every tree.

11. And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: the fword is fharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the layer.

12 Cry and howl, fon of man: for it thall be upon my people, it fall be upon all the princes of Ifrael: terrors by reason of the word fhall be upon my people: fmite therefore upon thy thigh.

13 Because it is a trial, and what if the fword contra eten the rod It fhall be no GOD.

'The Ammonites threatenes.

14 Thou therefore, fon of man, prophesy. and finite thine hands together, and let the fword be doubled the third time, the (word of the flain: it is the fword of the great men that are lain, which entereth into their privy chambers.

15 I have fet the point of the sword a gaint all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their rains be multiplied: aht it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the flaughter.

16 Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whitherfoever thy face is fet.

17 I will alfo fmite mine hands together, and I will caufe my fury to reft: I the LORD have faid it.

18 The word of the LORD came unto me again, faying,

19 Alfo, thou fon of man, appoint thee two ways, that the fword of the king of Babylon may come both twain hall come forth out of one land and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.

20 Appoint a way, that the word may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerufalem the defenced.

21 For the king of Babylon ftood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways to ufe divination he made his ar rows bright, he confulted with images, be looked in the liver.

22 At his right hand was the divination for Jerufalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the daughter, to lift up the voice with fhouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to caft a mount and to build a fort.

23 And it shall be unto them as a falfe divination in their fight, to them that have fworn va hs: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.

24 Therefore thus faith the Lord God; Becaufe ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your tranfgretions are difcovered, to that in all your doings your fins de appear; because, I say, that ye are come o remembrance, ye thall be taken with the hand.

25 And thou, profane wicked prince of Ifrael, whole day is come when iniquity all have an end,

26 Thus faith the Lord Gop; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this all not be the fame: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.

27 I will overturn, overturn, overturn it : and it shall be no more, until he come whole right it is; and 1 will give it bim.

28 And thou, fon of man, prophefy and fay, Thus faith the Lord Gop concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their re proach; even fay thou, The fword, the fword is drawn: for the naughter it is turbithed, to confume becaufe of the glittering:

29 While they see vanity unto thee, while they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are dain, of the wicked, whofe day is come, when their iniquity hall have an end.

30 Shall I caufe it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou waft created, in the land of thy nativity.

31 And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the

fore I will gather you into the midst of Jerufalem.

20 As they gather filver, and brafs, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; fo will I gather you in mine anger and in my tury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.

21 Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon

Moreover, the word of the LORD came you inlted in the mid thereon, and ye shall

unto faying,

2 Now, thou fon of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? Yea, thou thalt thew her all her abominations.

3 Then fay thou, Thus faith the Lord Goo; The city heddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to dente herself.

4 Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast thed; and haft defiled thyfelf in thine idols which thou haft made; and thou haft caufed tay days to draw near, and art come even uato thy years: there. fore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a micking to all countries.

5 Thofe that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee which art infamous and much vexed.

6 Behold, the princes of Ifrael, every one were in thee to their power to thed blooi.

7 In thee have they fet light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppreffion with the ftranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherlefs and the widow. 8Thou hart defpifed mine holy things, and, haft profaned my fabbaths.

9 In thee are men that carry tales to fhed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdnefs:

10 In thee have they difcovered their father's nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was fet apart for pollution.

11 And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his fifter, his father's daughter.

12 In thee have they taken gifts to fhed blood; thou haft taken ufury and increase, and thou haft greedily gained of thy neigh. bours by extortion, and haft forgotten me, faith the Lord God.

13 Behold, therefore I have fmitten mine hand at thy dishoneft gain which thou hatt made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.

14 Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? the LORD have spoken it, and

will do it.

15 And I will featter thee among the heathen, and difperfe thee in the countries, and will confume thy filthiness out of thee.

16 And thou halt take thine inheritance in thyfelf in the fight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.

17. And the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

18 Son of man, the houfe of Ifrael is to me become drofs: all they are brafs, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the turnace; they are even the drofs of filver.

19 Therefore thus faith the Lord Gon; Be. caufe ye are all become drols, behold, there

22 As filver is melted in the midft of the furnace, fo thall ye be melted in the midit thereof; and ye thall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.

23 And the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

24 Son of man, fay unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleanfed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.

25 There is a confpiracy of her prophets in the midft thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured fouls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midif thereof.

26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they fhewed difference be tween the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my iabbaths, and I am profaned among them.

27 Her princes in the midft thereof are like wolves ravening the prey to fhed blood, and to destroy fouls, to get dishoneft gain.

28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered mortar, feeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, faying, Thus faith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not fpoken.

29 The people of the land have used oppref fion, and exercifed robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy; yea, they have oppressed the itranger wrongfully.

30 And I fought for a man among them that should make up the hedge, and ftand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not deitroy it; but I found none.

31 Therefore have I poured out mine indig nation upon them; I have confumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompenfed upon their heads, faith the Lord God. CHAP. XXIII.

i

The whoredoms of Aholah and dholibah: 22 Abolibah is to be plagued by her lovers: 45 their judgments.

THE word of the LORD came again unto me, faying,

2 Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother:

3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt; they committed whoredoms in their youth: there were their breasts preffed, and there they bruised the teats of their virginity.

4 And the names of them were Aholah the elder, and Aholibah her fifter; and they were mine, and they bare fons and daughters. Thus were their names; Samaria is Aholah, and Jerufalem Aholibah.

5 And Aholah played the harlot when the was mine; and the doted on her lovers, on the Affyrians ber neighbours,

6 Which were clothed with blue, captains and

[blocks in formation]

and rulers, all of them defirable young men, horfemen riding upon horses.

7 Thus the committed her whoredoms with them, with all them that were the chofen men of Aliyria, and with all on whom the doted: with all their idols the defiled herfelf. 8 Neither left the her whoredoms brought from Egypt: for in her youth they lay with her, and they bruifed the breafts of her virginity, and poured their whoredom upon her. 9 Wherefore I have delivered her into the hand of her lovers, into the haud of the Affy. rians, upon whom the doted.

10 Thefe difcovered her nakedness: they took her fons and her daughters: and new her with the fword: and the became famous among women: for they had executed judg. ment upon her.

11 And when her fifter Aholibah faw this, the was more corrupt in her inordinate love than the, and in her whoredoms more than her fifter in her whoredoms.

12 She doted upon the Affyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed moft gorgeously, horfemen riding upon horfes, all of them defirable young men.

13 Then I faw that the was defiled, that they took both one way,

14 And that the increafed her whoredoms : for when the faw men pourtrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans pourtrayed with vermilion,

15 Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in died attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:

16 And as foon as the faw them with her eyes, the doted upon them, and fent meffengers unto them into Chaldea.

17 And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and the was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them. 18 So the difcovered her whoredoms, and discovered her nakednefs: then my mind was alienated from her, like as my mind was alienated from her fifter.

19 Yet the multiplied her whoredoms, in calling to remembrance the days of her youth, wherein the had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.

20 For the doted upon their paramours, whofe flesh is as the fleth of affes, and whofe iffue is like the iffue of horses.

21 Thus thou calledft to remembrance the lewdness of thy youth, in bruising thy teats by the Egyptians for the paps of thy youth.

22 Therefore, O Aholibah, thus faith the Lord God; Behold, I will raife up thy lovers against thee, from whom thy mind is alienated, and I will bring them against thee on every fide;

23 The Babylonians, and all the Challeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Affyrians with them; all of them deftrable young men, captains and rulers, great lords and renowned, all of them riding upon horfes.

24 And they fhall come against thee with chariots, waggons, and wheels, and with an affembly of people, which thall fet againft thee buckler and thield and helmet round about: and 1 will fet judgment before them, and they shall judge thee according to their judgments,

Abolibah is plagued.

25 And I will fet my jealoufy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nofe and thine ears; and thy remnant fhall fall by the fword: they thall take thy fons and thy daughters; and thy refidue thall be devoured by the fire. 26 They shall alfo ftrip thee out of thy clothes, and take away thy fair jewels:

27 Thus will I make thy lewdnefs to cease from thee, and thy whoredom brought from the land of Egypt: fo that thou shalt not list up thine eyes unto them, nor remember E. gypt any more.

28 For thus faith the Lord God; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou hateft, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated.

29 And they shall deal with thee hatefully, a id fhall take away all thy labour, and thail leave thee naked and bare: and the naked nefs of thy whoredoms shall be difcovered, both thy lewdnefs and thy whoredoms.

30 I will do these things unto thee, because thon hatt gone a whoring after the heathen, and because thou art polluted with their idols.

31 Thou haft walked in the way of thy fiffer; therefore will I give her cup into thine

hand.

32 Thus faith the Lord God; Thou shalt drink of thy fifter's cup deep and large: thou fhalt be laughed to fcorn and had in derision; it containeth much.

33 Thou shalt be filled with drunkenness and forrow, with the cup of astonishment and defolation, with the cup of thy sister Samaria.

34 Thou shalt even drink it and fuck it out, and thou shalt break the fhreds thereof, and pluck off thine own breasts for I have spoken it, faith the Lord God.

35 Therefore thus faith the Lord GOD: because thou haft forgotten me, and caft me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdnefs and thy whoredoms.

36 The LORD faid moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? Yea, declare onto them their abominations,

37 That they have committed adultery, and blood is in their hands, and with their idols have they committed adultery; and have alfo caufed their fons, whom they bare unte me, to país for them through the fire, to devour them.

38 Moreover, this they have done unto me : they have defiled my fanctuary in the fame day, and have profaned my fabbaths,

39 For when they had flain their children to their idols, then they came the fame day in. to my fanctuary to profane it; and lo thus have1 they done in the midst of mine house.

40 And furthermore, that ye have fent for men to come from far, unto whom a meffenger was fent; and, lo, they came: for whom thou didst wash thyfelt, paintedft thy eyes, and deckedft thy felt with ornaments,

41 And fatent upon a ftately bed, and a table prepared before it, whereupon thou haft fet mine incenfe and mine oil.

4z And a voice of a multitude being at ease was with her and with the men of the common fort were brought Sabeans from the wildernefs, which put bracelets upon their hands, and beautiful crowns upon their heads.

43 Then faid I unto ber that was old in adulteries,

Jerufalem's defirulion.

Chap. xxiv, xxv.

The Jews' calamity,

adulteries, Will they now commit whoredoms any more, till I have caufed my fury to reft with her, and the with them?

44 Yet they went in unto her, as they go in unto a woman that playeth the harlot; fo went they in unto Aholah and unto Aholibah, the lewd women.

45 And the righteous men, they fhall judge them after the manner, of adultereffes, and after the manner of women that hed blood; because they are adultereffes, and blood is in their hands.

46 For thus faith the Lord GoD; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.

47 And the company fhall tone them with ftones, and difpatch them with their fwords; they fail lay their fons and their daughters, and burn up their houfes with fire.

48 Thus will caufe lewdnefs to ceafe out of the land, that all women may be taught not to do after your lewdness.

49 And they thall recompenfe your lewd. nefs upon you, and ye tha" bear the fins of your idols: and ye thall know that I am the Lord God. CHAP. XXIV.

By a boiling pat, 6 is fhewed ferufalem's deftruction. 15 By Ezekiel's not mourning for his wife, 19 is shewed the Jews' calamity to be beyond all forrow.

GAIN in the ninth year, in the tenth

A month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the LORD came unto me, faying, 2 Son of man, Write thee the name of the day, even of this fame day: the king of Babylon fet himself against Jerufalem this fame day.

3 And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, id fay unto them, Thus faith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour wa

ter into it.

4 Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the thoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

s Take the choice of the flock, and burn alfo the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them feethe the bores of it therein.

6 Wherefore thus faith the Lord Gon; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot wnofe fcum is therein, and whofe fcum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall

upon it.

7 For her blood isin the midft of her; the fet it upon the top of a rock; the poured it not upon the ground to cover it with duft;

8 That it might caufe fury to come up to take vengeance; I have fet her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.

9 Therefore thus faith the Lord Gon; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.

10 Heap on wood, kindle the fire, confume the flesh, and fpice it well, and let the bones be burned.

11 Then fet it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brafs of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthinefs of it may be molten in it, that the fcum of it may be confumed.

12 She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great fcum went not forth out of her: her fcum shall be in the fire.

13 in thy Slthiness is lewdnefs: because I have purged thee, and thou waft not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthinefs

upon thee.

14 I the LORD have spoken it; it fhall come to pafs, and I will do it: I will not go back, neither will I fpare, neither will I re. pent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, thall they judge thee, faith the Lord Gop.

15 Alfo the word of the LORD came unto me, faying,

15 Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the defire of thine eyes with a froke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, nei. ther shall thy tears run down.

17 Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy fhoes upon thy teet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.

18 So Ifpake unto the people in the morn ing and at even my wife died, and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

19 And the people faid unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us,

that thou decit ?

20 Then I answered them, The word of the

LORD came unto me, faying,

21 Speak unto the houfe of Ifrael, Thus faith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will pro fane my fanctuary, the excellency of your ftrength, the defire of your eyes, and that

which your foul pitieth, and your fons and your daughters whom ye have left thall fall by the fword.

22 And ye shall do as I have done ye fhall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

23 And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your thoes upon your feet: ye thall not mourn nor weep; but ye thall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.

24 Thus Ezekiel is unto you a fign: ac. cording to all that he hath done fhall ye do; and when this cometh, ye fhall know that I am the Lord Gon.

25 Alfo, thou fon of man, ball it not he in the day when I take from them their ftrength, the joy of their glory, the defire of their eyes, and that whereupon they fet their minds, their fons and their daughters;

26 That he that efcapeth in that day thall come unto thee, to caufe thee to hear it with thine ears?

27 In that day fhall thy mouth be opened to him which is efcaped, and thou shalt (peak, and be no more dumb: and thou fhalf be a fign unto them; and they fhall know that I am the LORD.

CHAP. XXV.

God's vengeance on the Ammonites for their
infolence against the Jews, Ec.
THE word of the LORD came again unto
me, faying,

2 Son of man, fet thy face against the Ammonites, and prophefy against them:

3 And fay unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord GoD; Thus faith the Lord God, Because thou faidft, Aha, againft my `fanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Ifrael, when it was defolate; and again the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;

4 Behold therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the eart for a poffeffion, and they thall fet their palaces in thee, and make their

dwellings
