Misc. Pub. 260 contains a descriptive listing of the many different standard materials issued by NBS for calibrating measurement systems or for producing scientific data that can be referred to a common base. A schedule of prices and amounts, as well as directions for ordering, is included. For composition standards, summary tables of analyses are presented to indicate the type of standards presently available. Announcements of new standard reference materials will be made in the Federal Register, in scientific and trade journals, and in the Techanical News Bulletin of the National Bureau of Standards. The current status of the various standard materials will be indicated by an insert sheet available quarterly from the Bureau. Standards of certified chemical composition: Steels (chip and solid) Cast iron (chip); white cast iron (solid) Steel-making alloys Nonferrous alloys (chip) Copper-base alloys (solid) High temperature alloys (solid) Nickel oxides Tin metal (solid) Titanium-base alloys Zirconium-base alloys Zinc-base die-casting alloys; zinc spelter (solid) Ores Cements Ceramic materials Hydrocarbon blends Metallo-organic compounds Microchemical standards Chemicals Special nuclear materials Isotopic reference standards Standards of certified properties and purity: Electroplated coating samples of standard thickness pH standards Freezing-point standards Thermometric cells Calorimetric standards Radioactivity standards Alpha standards Beta and gamma solution standards Beta, gamma, and electron, capture-solution standards Beta-ray gas standard Point-source gamma-ray standards Radium rock samples Radium solution standards for radon analysis Radium gamma-ray solution standards Contemporary standard for carbon-14 dating laboratories Standard rubbers and rubber compounding materials 784-291 065 -9 Polystyrene molecular weight standards Viscometer calibrating liquids, CGS or Saybolt units Color standards for spectrophotometer-tristimulus integrator systems Standard colors for kitchen and bathroom accessories Paint pigment standards for color and tinting strength Light-sensitive papers Internal tearing resistance standard paper Microcopy resolution test chart Glass spheres for sieve calibration Turbidometric and fineness standard Surface flammability standard APPENDIX C FEE LIST (As of October 1965) The following tabulation lists the fees that have been established for measurement services described in the schedules that make up the main text of this publication. The items included here are identified in the schedules by a single asterisk (*) in the Fee column. For further information on NBS policy in regard to fees, see Part 200 above, especially sections 200.110 and 200.111, and the various sections with the title "General" (see Contents). Items carrying the suffix "z" are automatically excluded from the list, since these services, and consequently also the fees for them, vary according to the requirements of the individual case, as agreed upon in advance by the client and the NBS laboratory concerned. Also omitted are fees for electrical measurement services in the high-frequency and microwave regions. Concerning these, see schedules 201.800 and 201.900, above. Revisions of this list will be made from time to time and it is planned to publish them separately. Purchasers of the present publication can receive the up-dated fee lists without charge by sending in the post card provided below, on last page. |
