EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE REPORT

By C. W. S. Sammelman, Secretary

The 32nd Annual Convention meeting of the Executive Committee of the American Society for Municipal Improvements was held Monday, November 8th, at 2 P. M., in the Reception Room of the Mayflower Hotel, Washington, D. C. Those present were: President T. Chalkley Hatton, First Vice-President C. Arthur Poole, Treasurer P. L. Brockway, Secretary C. W. S. Sammelman, Past Presidents C. H. Rust, A. Prescott Folwell, Morris R. Sherrerd, George W. Tillson, E. A. Kingsley, N. F. Sprague, R. Keith Compton, E. S. Rankin, W. W. Horner, E. L. Dalton

President T. Calkley Hatton presided.

The following business was transacted by the Executive Committee pertaining to the general affairs of the Society:

A Standing Committee of three members was authorized to investigate and propose the necessary revisions to the constitution to make it conform to existing conditions.

A Standing Committee of five members was authorized with authority to publish a quarterly annual bulletin for the Society to be distributed to the members. Authority was also given to sell advertising space to defray partly the expenses of its publication.

A Standing Committee of three members was authorized to be known as "The Place of Meeting Committee" with instructions to pass upon all invitations from cities for conventions and make recommendations to the Executive Committee of its findings.

The Secretary reported that the supply of printed specification pamphlets had been exhausted. He was instructed to get into communication with the chairman of the various specification committees. and have them incorporate all amendments and otherwise bring the specifications to date, and, in instances where letter ballots were required, to have the ballot taken and then have pamphlets printed to cover the anticipated needs for the year. In the event the costs were not prohibitive, it was suggested that these specifications should. be incorporated in the volume of the proceedings of the present convention.

The representatives of A. S. M. I. on the Sectional Committee on Cement of the American Society for Testing Materials were instructed to vote "No" on the motion to refer to the American Engineering Standards Committee for adoption the present Standard Specifications and Tests for Portland Cement, Serial designation, C9-26, of the American Society for Testing Materials without essential change.
