Dr. ANDERSON. Senator, I brought some copies of something done by one of these medical students from Palo Alto that I would like to pass up to you.

Senator KENNEDY. We will take them and admit in the record the relevant parts and make it a part of the total file.

Dr. ANDERSON. This was done by the black medical students at Stanford, which would be part of the statewide organization we are developing in California.

FOR SICKLE CELL

I. EDUCATION: Developing educational materials and systems to further inform the general population of Sickle Cell Anemia and the nature of this disease.

II. COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: Organization of a communication team to function as a network of Sickle communication agents. To forward and disburse facts about the action taken on behalf of the Sickle Cell Foundation throughout the state of California and the nation. The system will be made up of students and educational professionals.

a. Each campus of all the educational systems in the state will have an appointed Sickle Cell Representative. This person will relate directly to a central state or regional committee.

Campus Organizations: All campus
organizations such as fraternities,
sororities, service groups, and etc.
will be solicited for volunteers to
aid in the development of a student
and professional communication net-
work.

In the state of California, our efforts will be directed toward the testing of all people who are involved in any area of education.

a. Support of legislation: To provide a requirement at all levels of education that Sickle Cell Testing be mandatory for students, faculty, and staff.

RESEARCH: To work for the funding of specialized research
projects that relate directly to Sickle Cell
Anemia, its' treatment and cure. Sickle Cell
must be a priority research target for all
"Black" students on all levels.
