STATE-FINANCED SCHOLARSHIP/LOAN PROGRAMS [From State laws: KENTUCKY [One thousand $200 scholarships are provided for the 1962-64 biennium for teachers of math, science, or a foreign language, or who are school librarians with no minor in the subject they are teaching. (K.R.S. 156.620 and 156.630 (1963).) [Medical scholarships and loans are made available through the State board of health. Such scholarships or loans shall not exceed $1,000 each per annum. This assistance is on condition that such applicant engages in public health work within the Commonwealth for 1 year for every $1,000 received. (K.R.S. 211.290211.310 (1963).) [Ten dental scholarships are available each year through the State board of health at $1,500 per annum. (K.R.S. 211.405 (1963).) [Any person who was a resident of the State when called to military service during any war from April 6, 1917, to date, shall have free tuition at Statesupported schools of higher learning; provided, this section is not applicable if the Federal Government provides such education. (K.R.S. 164.480 (1963).) [A child of a veteran killed or disabled while in the Armed Forces shall pay no matriculation nor tuition at State-supported schools. (K.R.S. 164.505, 165.515 (1963).).] C.
