UNITED STATES SENATE, The committee met, pursuant to adjournment of Saturday, June 2, 1917, at 10 o'clock a. m. Present: Senator Pittman. Also present: Messrs. James H. Vahey and M. F. Mangan, counsel representing the railway employees; Messrs. John S. Barbour and George P. Hoover, counsel representing the railway company, and Mr. William McK. Clayton, representing Federation of Citizens' Associations. Senator PITTMAN. The committee will adjourn until to-morrow morning at 9.30 by reason of the fact that there is not a quorum present, as Senator Hughes is still confined to his residence by illness, and Senator Jones has met with a slight accident which prevents him from attending this morning, and Senator Johnson and Senator King are absent from Washington on official business.
