XLI. And be it further enacted, That there shall be provided and kept in the Office of the Auditor of the Receipt of His Majefty's Exchequer at Westminster One Book of Regifter, in which all the Money that shall be paid into the Exchequer at Westminster for the faid Rates and Duties hereby granted on Sugar, Mali, Tobacco and Snuff, and alfo the Rates and Affeffments hereby granted on Personal Estates, and on Offices and Employments of Profit, Penfions, Annuities and Stipends, and all Sums contributed and paid from His Majesty's Civil Lift Revenue, and all voluntary Contributions hereinbefore mentioned, fhall be entered and registered apart and distinct from all other Monies paid and payable to His Majefty. XLVIII. Provided always, and be it further enacted, That the Exchequer Bills Exchequer Bills to be made forth by virtue of this Act, together to be charged with the Interest that may become due thereon, and the Charges of upon the Rates exchanging and circulating the fame, fhall be and the fame are hereby made chargeable and charged upon the Rates, Duties and granted by this Affeffments granted by this Act; and it fhall be lawful for the faid Commiffioners of the Treafury, and they are hereby authorized, from time to time to direct to be iffued to the faid Paymafters by way of Impreft, and upon Account, fuch Sums of Money, and at fuch Periods as the faid Commiffioners fhall think neceffary, for or towards paying off and difcharging the Exchequer Bills which fhall have been made forth by virtue of this Act, or any of them, and for and towards paying the Intereft to become due on the faid Bills, and for and towards the Charge of exchanging and circulating the fame Bills or any of them.

LI. And be it further enacted, That the Surplus of the Monies arifing from the Rates, Duties and Assessments granted and impofed by this Act, and all Sums contributed and paid from His Majefty's Civil Lift Revenue, and all voluntary Contributions, after paying off and fatisfying all the Exchequer Bills iffued by virtue of this A&t, together with the Intereft that may become due thereon, and the Charges of exchanging and circulating the fame, fhall, as the Surplus of any fuch Monies refpectively fhall be paid into the Receipt of the Exchequer at Westminster, be carried to and made Part of the Confolidated Fund of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.

Prefervation of His Majesty's Perfon and Government against
Treasonable and Seditious Practices and Attempts; and for
the Safety and Prefervation of the Perfon of His Royal
Highness The Prince Regent against Treasonable Practices
and Attempts.

WHEREAS by an Act paffed in the Thirty fixth Year of

His prefent Majefty's Reign, intituled An Ad for the Safety and Prefervation of His Majesty's Perfon and Government against Treasonable and Seditious Practices and Attempts, it was amongst other Things enacted, that if any Perfon or Perfons whatsoever, after the Day of the paffing of that Act, during the • natural Life of His Majesty, and until the End of the next Seffion • of Parliament after the Demise of the Crown, fhould, within the Realm or without, compafs, imagine, invent, devife or intend Death or Destruction, or any bodily Harm tending to Death or • Destruction, Maim or Wounding, Imprisonment or Reftraint of • the Perfon of His Majefty, His Heirs and Succeffors, or to deprive or depose Him or them from the Stile, Honour or Kingly Name of the Imperial Crown of this Realm, or of any other of His Majefty's Dominions or Countries, or to levy War againft His Majefty, His Heirs and Succeffors, within this Realm, in order by Force or Constraint to compel Him or them to change His or their • Measures or Counfels, or in order to put any Force or Conftraint upon or to intimidate or overawe both Houfes or either House of Parliament, or to move or ftir any Foreigner or Stranger with Force to invade this Realm or any other His Majefty's Dominions or Countries under the Obeifance of His Majefty, His Heirs and Succeffors, and fuch Compaffings, Imaginations, Inventions, Devices or Intentions, or any of them, fhould exprefs, utter or declare, by publishing any Printing or Writing, or by any overt Act or Deed, being legally convicted thereof upon the Oaths of Two lawful and credible Witneffes upon Trial, or otherwife convicted < or attainted by due Courfe of Law, then every such Perfon, and • Perfons fo as aforefaid offending should be deemed, declared and adjudged to be a Traitor and Traitors, and fhould fuffer Pains of Death, and also lofe and forfeit as in cafes of High Treason: And Whereas it is neceffary and expedient that fuch of the Pro• vifions of the faid Act as would expire at the End of the next • Seffion of Parliament after the Demife of the Crown fhould be • further continued and made perpetual; Be it therefore enacted by The King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That all and every the hereinbefore recited Provifions which relate to the Heirs and Succeffors of His Majefty, the Sovereigns of these Realms, fhall be and the fame are hereby made perpetual.

II. And Whereas, in confequence of the daring Outrages offered to the Perfon of His Royal Highness the Prince Regent of the • United

• United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, in the Exercise and • Administration of the Royal Power and Authority to the Crown • of these Realms belonging, in His Passage to and from the Parliament, at the Opening of this prefent Seffion, it is expedient, for the Security and Preservation of the Person of the fame His Royal Highness The Prince Regent, to extend certain of the Provifions of the faid A&t;' Be it therefore enacted, That if any Perfon or Perfons whatsoever, after the Day of paffing this Act, during the Period in which His Royal Highness The Prince Regent fhall remain in the Perfonal Exercife of the Royal Authority, fhall, within the Realm or without, compafs, imagine, invent, devife or intend Death or Destruction, or any bodily Harm tending to Death or Destruction, Maim or Wounding, Imprisonment or Restraint, of the Person of the fame His Royal Highness The Prince Regent, and fuch Compaffings, Imaginations, Inventions, Devifes or Intentions, or any of them, fhall exprefs, utter or declare, by publishing any Printing or Writing, or by any overt Act or Deed, being legally convicted thereof upon the Oaths of Two lawful and credible Witneffes upon Trial, or otherwise convicted or attainted by due Courfe of Law, then every fuch Perfon and Perfons fo as aforefaid offending fhall be deemed, declared and adjudged to be a Traitor and Traitors, and shall suffer Pains of Death, and also lose and forfeit as in cafes of High Treason.

III. And Whereas it is expedient to extend the Provisions of a certain Act paffed in the Thirty ninth and Fortieth Years of the Reign of His prefent Majefty, intituled An Ad for regulating Trials for High Treafon and Misprifion of Treafon in certain cafes; Be it therefore enacted, That from and after the paffing of this Act, all and every the Claufes, Provifions and Regulations in the faid Act contained fhall extend and be deemed, taken and conftrued to extend, to all and every case of High Treason in compaffing or imagining the Death of His Royal Highness The Prince Regent, and Misprifion of fuch Treafon, where the overt Act or overt Acts which fhall be alleged in the Indictment for such Offence shall be Affaffination or Killing of His Royal Highness The Prince Regent, or any direct Attempt against his Life, or any direct Attempt against His Perfon whereby His Life may be endangered or His Perfon may fuffer bodily Harm.

IV. Provided, and be it further enacted, That all and every Perfon and Perfons that fhall at any Time be accufed, or indicted or profecuted for any Offence made or declared to be High Treason by this Act, shall be entitled to the Benefit of the Act made in the Seventh Year of His late Majefty King William the Third, intituled An A& for regulating of Trials in Cafes of Treafon and Mifprifion of Treafon; and alfo to the Provifions made by another Act, paffed in the Seventh Year of Her late Majesty Queen Anne, intituled An A&t for improving the Union of the Two Kingdoms; fave and except in cafes of High Treafon in compaffing or imagining the Death of any Heir or Succeffor of His Majefty, or the Death of His Royal Highness The Prince Regent, and of Mifprifion of fuch Treafon, where the overt Act or overt Acts of fuch Treafon which shall be alleged in the Indictment for fuch Offence shall be Affaffination or Killing of any Heir or Succeffor of His Majesty, or Assassination or Killing of His Royal Highness The Prince Regent, or any dire&t

V. Provided alfo, and be it enacted, That nothing in this Act contained shall extend or be conftrued to extend to prevent or affect any Profecution, by Information or Indictment, to which any Perfon or Perfons would have been or would be liable if this Act had not been enacted, for any Offence within the Provisions of this Ac, unless the Party fhall have been firft profecuted under this Act.

VI. Provided alfo, and be it enacted, That the Statute of the Fifty fourth Year of His Majefty's Reign, intituled An A& to alter the Punishment in certain cafes of High Treafon, fhall have the fame Effect as to Sentences and Judgments to be pronounced and awarded under this Act, as if this Act had been made and paffed before the faid A&t of the Fifty fourth Year of His Majesty's Reign.

An Act to revive and make perpetual Two Acts of the Thirty seventh Year of His prefent Majefty, the one in the Parliament of Great Britain, and the other in the Parliament of Ireland, for the better Prevention and Punishment of Attempts to feduce Perfons ferving in His Majefty's Forces by Sea or Land from their Duty and Allegiance to His Majefty, or to incite them to Mutiny or Difobedience.

WHEREAS Two Acts were paffed in the Thirty feventh

Year of His present Majesty's Reign, the one in the Parliament of Great Britain, the other in the Parliament of Ireland, • each of them being intituled An Ad for the better Prevention and Punishment of Attempts to feduce Perfons ferving in His Majesty's Forces, by Sea or Land, from their Duty and Allegiance to His Majefly, or to incite them to Mutiny or Difobedience: And Whereas the faid Acts were afterwards continued, but are now expired; and it is expedient and neceffary that the same fhould be revived and made perpetual;' Be it therefore enacted by The King's Moft made perpetual. Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That from and after the passing of this Act, the faid hereinbefore mentioned Acts of the Thirty feventh Year of His Majesty's Reign, and all and every the Claufes, Powers, Punishments and Provifions therein contained, fave the Claufes or Provifions therein refpectively contained limiting the Continuance of the faid Acts refpectively, fhall be and the fame are hereby revived and made perpetual,
