II. And Whereas in fome Inftances the building, enlarging or repairing of Gaols or Prisons for fome Counties and Counties of • Cities and Counties of Towns in Ireland, has been begun according to the Provifions of fome Act or Acts fpecially relating thereto paffed before the paffing of the faid recited Act of the Fiftieth Year of His prefent Majesty's Reign, and the faid Works are in fome Instances not yet completed by reafon of the restricted Powers of Grand Juries in fuch cafes, and of the Want of Authority under fuch Acts in the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief • Governor of Ireland to advance the Sums neceffary for the Completion thereof, upon Presentments of the fame by Grand Juries, to be repaid by Inftalments; by reason whereof the faid Works have proceeded flowly, to the great Inconvenience of the Public, and are likely to be attended with greater Expense in the End than ‹ if the whole Sum necessary for the Completion thereof were to be advanced in the firft Inftance ;' Be it therefore enacted, That from and after the paffing of this A&t it shall and may be lawful for the Grand Jury of every fuch County, County of a City, or County of a Town fo circumftanced, in all cafes in which they fhall think the fame expedient, at any Affizes after the paffing of this Act, to prefent the whole Sum neceffary to be expended in completing and finishing the building, enlarging and repairing of fuch Gaol or Prison, over and above fuch Sum or Sums as may at the time of making fuch Prefentment be in the Hands of any Body or Perfon or Perfons under the Provifions of any fuch special A&t or Acts, and remaining unexpended; and to direct, in and by fuch Prefentment, that fuch Sum fo to be prefented fhall be raised on the County, County of a City or County of a Town, by fuch Half Yearly or Yearly Sums or Inftalments, and in fuch manner and at fuch times, as shall be specified in fuch Prefentment, and fuch Sums fhall be fo raised accordingly; and it shall be lawful for any fubfequent Grand Jury at any Affizes to prefent that any of the faid Inftalments shall be increased to any Sum which fhall be found neceffary or proper; and after fuch Prefentment for fuch Sum fo deemed neceffary for completing and finishing the building, enlarging and repairing of fuch Gaol or Prifon, fhall be made, it fhall be lawful for the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being to cause to be advanced at the Receipt of His Majefty's Exchequer in Ireland, to the Treafurer of fuch County, County of a City or County of a Town, on the Faith of fuch Presentment, the whole of the Sum fo prefented, or fo much thereof as fhall not have been raised or received at the time of fuch Advance, or any Part, Share or Proportion thereof; and fuch Sum or Sums fhall be applied by fuch Treafurer to the Purposes of fuch Prefentment, and fhall be repaid by fuch Treasurer to the Collector of Excise of the District, in like manner and under the like Regulations in all refpects as are mentioned, specified and fet forth in the said recited Act of the Fiftieth Year of His Majefty's Reign, with refpect to Advance by Order of the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland, for the Purposes of the said recited

III. Provided always, and be it enacted and declared, That before any Advance fhall be made by the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being in manner authorized by this Act, the Place or Site upon which fuch Gaol is intended to be built, or has been in part built, together with the Plan adopted for the Execution of the faid Work, and alfo the Contract or Contracts for completing the fame, shall be laid before and approved of by the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being; and that it fhall not be lawful for the Grand Jury or Commiffioners to depart from the Plan fo approved of.

IV. And be it further enacted, That in all cafes in which the Grand Jury of any County, County of a City, or County of a Town, fhall, under the Provifions of this Act, make fuch Prefentment as aforesaid, and that such Advance shall be thereupon made by the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being, then and in every such case, all Rights, Powers and Authorities given by fuch special Act or Acts to all Bodies and Perfons therein mentioned fhall ceafe and determine, and be of no Effect, any thing in any such Act or Acts notwithstanding; and that all Monies theretofore raised by virtue of any fuch special Act or Acts, and remaining unapplied in the Hands or Power of Body, or Perfon or Perfons, to the Purposes thereof, fhall, after the making of fuch Prefentment and Advance, be forthwith paid over or transferred by fuch Body or Perfon or Perfons refpectively to the Treasurer of fuch County, County of a City, or County of a Town, in aid of fuch Prefentment to be made under this A&t, as if fuch Money had been originally prefented for fuch Purposes under the Provisions of the faid Act of the Fiftieth Year of His Majefty's Reign, or of this Act; and that from and after the Appointment Materials previof the Commiffioners fo to be appointed as aforefaid, all Materials oudly purchased previously purchased or procured for or towards the Completion of vested in Comany fuch Gaol or Prifon fhall be and become vefted in fuch Commiffioners for the Purposes of this A&t: Provided always, that Perfons who nothing herein contained fhall prevent the Perfon or Perfons who have received may have received Money under the Provifions of any fuch special Money to ac A&t or Acts, and who fhall not have the fame forthcoming at the count. time

or who fhall not have accounted for the fame, from being liable to
account for the fame in the manner provided by fuch special Act or
A&s, any thing in this prefent A&t contained to the contrary thereof
notwithstanding; and that all the Provifions of any fuch ípecial A&
or Acts for the fuing for and recovering all fuch Sums as shall not
be accounted for fhall remain in fuch cafes in full Force; and all
fuch Sums as shall be so recovered fhall be paid over or transferred
to the Treasurer of fuch County, County of a City, or County of

An Act to continue until the End of the next Seffion of Par-
liament Two Acts made in the Fifty fourth and Fifty fixth
Years of His present Majefty for regulating the Trade in
Spirits between Great Britain and Ireland reciprocally.
[7th July 1817.]
HEREAS an Act was made in the Fifty fourth Year of
the Reign of His present Majefty, intituled An Act to regu-
• late until the End of the next Seffion of Parliament the Trade in Spi-
• rits between Great Britain and Ireland reciprocally, and which, by
• an Act made in the Fifty fifth Year of the Reign of His prefent
Majefty, was continued until the End of the then next Seffion of
Parliament: And Whereas by an Act made in the laft Seffion of
• Parliament to amend and continue the faid recited A&t of the
Fifty fourth Year aforefaid, and to grant and allow new counter-
vailing Duties and Drawbacks on Spirits imported and exported
• between England and Scotland and Ireland refpectively, the faid
recited Act of the Fifty fourth Year aforefaid was and is further
• continued, except fo far as the fame was altered by the laft men-
• tioned Act, until the End of the prefent Seffion of Parliament,
• and it is expedient that the faid recited A&t of the Fifty fourth
Year aforefaid, fo altered as aforefaid, and fuch Parts of the
• faid recited A&t of the laft Seffion of Parliament as are now in
force should be further continued ;' Be it therefore enacted by
The King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and
Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in
this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame,
That the faid recited A&t of the Fifty fourth Year aforefaid, as
altered by the faid recited A&t of the laft Seffion of Parliament,
and alfo fuch Parts of the faid recited A&t of the laft Seffion of Par-
liament as are now in force, and the feveral Duties and Drawbacks
thereby granted and allowed and now payable, fhall be and the fame
is and are hereby further continued from and after the End of this
prefent Seffion of Parliament, and shall remain and continue in force
from thence until the End of the next Seffion of Parliament.

⚫ intituled An A& for permitting the Exportation of Wool or Woollen or Bay Yarn from any Port in Ireland to any Port in Great Britain: And Whereas it is expedient to extend and amend the Pro'vifions of the faid recited Acts;' Be it therefore enacted by The King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That from and after the paffing of this Act it fhall be lawful Exportation from to export from that Part of the United Kingdom called Ireland, Britain of Wooland to import into that Part of the United Kingdom called Great len or Bay Yarn Britain, any Woollen or Bay Yarn: Provided always, that Notice allowed, on Nobe firft given to the Commiffioners of Revenue in Ireland, or the tice, and other Chief Officers in the Port from which the fame is intended to be the Conditions brought, of the Quantity, Quality and Package, together with the herein menMarks and Number thereof, with the Name of the Ship and the Mafter or Commander on which the faid Goods are to be laden, and the Place or Port into which they are intended to be imported; and that Bond be first entered into, to the Ufe of His Majefty, His Heirs and Succeffors, with One or more fufficient Sureties, in Treble the Value of the Goods fo intended to be exported, that the fame shall (the Dangers of the Seas excepted) be landed at the Port to which they are intended to be brought; and that a Licence be also first taken under the Hands of the faid Commiffioners of Revenue, or any Two or more of them for the time being, or from the Chief Officers of the Port where fuch Bond is given, for the Landing thereof as aforefaid, which Licence they are hereby authorized and required to grant without any Fee or Reward, or any Licence granted other Charge to the Perfon demanding the fame; any Law, Statute without Fee. or Usage to the contrary in anywife notwithstanding.
