Wakhaba Will Marry

Didi Wamukoya is Kenyan lawyer and author. She was born and raised in Kenya and currently lives and works in Nairobi. Didi is married and has one daughter. Professionally, Didi is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and a Masters Degree in Environmental Law, both from the University of Nairobi. Didi is a trained wildlife crime investigator and prosecutor and was the Head of Prosecution at Kenya Wildlife Service for 7 years. Didi is now the Senior Manager, Wildlife Law Enforcement at African Wildlife Foundation.  

Didi is passionate about writing and is author of a fiction novel titled ‘Wamukoya Netia’ (Wamukoya D., Wamukoya Netia (Self Published, 2019). She is also working on self-publishing her second fiction novel titled ‘Wakaba Will Marry’ in November 2020. Didi is also a contributing author in Covid Stories from East Africa and Beyond by Langaa Publishers. Her chapter is titled ‘The COVID Outlaw’. Didi is also the author of the fiction blog ‘Wooden Glass’ (www.nairobiborn.com) where she shares short stories about her personal experiences. 

Besides writing fiction, Didi has authored various academic books and reference guides/handbooks. She is the co-Author of a Book on Natural Resources and Environmental Justice in Kenya (Muigua K., Wamukoya D., Kariuki F., Natural Resources and Environmental Justice in Kenya (Glenwood Publishers Ltd, 2015)). She has so far authored and/or co-authored 9 wildlife law enforcement handbooks. Further, Didi shares her knowledge on wildlife law in her blog ‘Wildlife Law Africa’ (www.wildlifelawafrica.com).
