DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

The higher educational programs of the Department of Justice include training of Federal Bureau of Investigation agents at the FBI National Academy, inservice courses for employees and supervisors of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, academic college courses for inmates of Federal penitentiaries, training programs for officers of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, and courses for lawenforcement officers from State, county, and local government organizations.

To train State, county, municipal, and other law enforcement officers as instructors and executives in the field of law enforcement. Level: Postsecondary and higher education.

2. Initial training of new special agents

DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

A total of 24 higher educational programs of the Department of Commerce are reported in this directory. These include educational programs directly operated by the Department and other activities in the field of education directly affecting educational institutions. The first of these categories includes inservice training of employees and of certain foreign nationals, and the operation of specialized training schools. The second includes contractual arrangements with educational institutions for the provision of courses at universities for qualified employees and financial aid to the State maritime academies.
