Page 1 - ... drugs which tend to be abused could not be accounted for at VA hospitals using the conventional pharmacy system — the ward stock system. Despite VA endorsement of the unit dose system, which provides better drug control, only 7 of 171 hospitals were using it. We recommended that the administrator establish a definite timetable for VAwide conversion to the unit dose system.
