Description: Provides basic education and occupational training during the last six months in military service to servicemen who do not have marketable civilian job skills. MDTA training projects are developed only where training sponsored by industry or the military is insufficient or industry sponsored training is limited because of geographic isolation of the particular establishment. 5. Description: The goal of the vocational training program is to prepare releasees for employment. Vocational training opportunities are provided for Federal prisoners in all major Federal institutions. Program covers 39 separate training areas with the largest number of completions in welding, auto repair, machine shop, auto shop repair, masonry, and key punch operations.
