1.56-1 Research Specialist

Research specialists may be employed on a full-time or part-time basis in any of the vocational education services to make such special studies, research or surveys in cooperation with State staff personnel, teacher-training institutions, local school administrative units or other agencies as are necessary for the promotion and improvement of vocational-technical education. The State Board for Vocational Education, in furthering the program of research in vocational education, believes that the optimum advantage can accrue when such program is coordinated with the research program of the State Board of Education and the Office of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and would so direct.

The State Board shall employ a Disbursing Officer and such accountants as are necessary to maintain a system of financial records showing receipts and expenditures of State, Federal and local funds in such a manner as to comply with the requirements of the annual Federal reports and such other reports as may be required by the State Board for Vocational Education.

He should have had five (5) years of recent

successful and responsible experience in

bookkeeping, accounting and auditing work;
two (2) of which shall have included office manage-
ment or equivalent responsibilities.

1.6 Reports

The State Board will participate in periodic consultations with the Commissioner and his staff, and will make such reports to the Commissioner as he may consider reasonably necessary to carry out his responsibilities under the acts, keep such records, afford such access thereto and comply with such other provisions as the Commissioner may find necessary to assure himself that such reports are correct and verifiable. Such reports shall include the annual estimate of projected program needs and the annual report.
