Hereafter an officer who starts to join his station on expiration of, of
absence will be reported on the rolls and returns as en route to join station
from sick leave of absence for the time necessarily consumed in making the
journey to his post, and for the time thus necessarily consumed he will
be entitled to full pay as if on duty. Should he delay en route, or should
he take more time to make the journey than that necessary, &c., the
commanding officer shall require him to make a written explanation
thereof, &c.
