[Remarks. In the division of the work
of indexing, to Mr. J. L. Robinson, my
assistant, was assigned the miscellaneous
subjects and cross-indexing, with instruc-
tions to make it so comprehensive that
any of the contents of the Journal could
be found with easy research, and it is
sincerely hoped that it will prove satis-
factory. To myself was assigned the
preparation of the history of House bills,
Senate bills, House joint resolutions, Sen-
ate joint resolutions, House concurrent
resolutions, Senate concurrent resolu-
tions, "corrections," under resolution of
the House, and forwarding to the mem-
bers, officers, etc. The old form of "Tab-
ulated Statement" for bills and resolu-
tions was abandoned some sessions ago
for the more satisfactory and comprehen-
sive statement as appears in this Index,
for by this treatment the index can show
every page where a bill is touched. "Er-
rata," found on last page, covers most
minor errors that were not deemed of
sufficient importance to cause a reprint,
and thereby further delay publication of
the Journal.
