The Grand Officers, Past Grand Officers and Representatives of the constituent lodges of Free and Accepted Masons of the state of Michigan, assembled in the Masonic Temple, in the city of Detroit, at high twelve on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of May, A. D. 1909, in accordance with the provisions of the constitution and by-laws, for the purpose of holding the sixty-fifth annual communication of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Michigan. A constitutional number of lodges being represented, the Grand Lodge was opened in ample form by M. W. Grand Master Herbert Montague and his associate Grand Officers. The Grand Chaplain led the brethren in prayer, and the Grand Master proclaimed the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the state of Michigan opened for the dispatch of the business of the sixty-fifth annual communicaton. Brother Frank E. Jersey, P. M., was appointed Assistant Grand Secretary during this annual communication. On motion of the Grand Secretary, the credentials of Brother Charles A. Conover, signed by the Worshipful Master and Secretary of Tyre Lodge, No. 18, were accepted, and he was admitted to a seat in the Grand Lodge as the Representative of said Tyre Lodge, No. 18. Grand Secretary announced that the Craftsman's Club of Ann Arbor, would give an entertainment in the auditorium of the Masonic Temple, at 8 o'clock this evening, consisting of a representation of an eighteenth century lodge, to which all the members of the Grand Lodge were cordially invited. The Grand Secretary further announced that a photographer would be in waiting to take a picture of the officers and members of the Grand Lodge, in front of the Masonic Temple, immediately upon Grand Lodge's closing for recess. RECESS. The Grand Lodge then took a recess until 2 o'clock p. m. First Day Afternoon Session. DETROIT, May 25, 1909. Grand Lodge resumed labor at 2:00 o'clock p. m., and the Grand Secretary proceeded to call the ROLL OF HONOR. "We shall meet, but we shall miss them."
