All categories of materiel under this stock fund increased a little with Aviation Fuels accounting for the largest share. As in most stock fund operations, the value of in-transit stocks increased as pipelines

extended.

On 30 June 1966 stratified stocks consisted almost entirely of those allocated to the Approved Forces, the only long supply stocks in the Air Force Stock Fund consisting of a few clothing items.

7. Defense Supply Agency Supply System Inventories (Table 41)

The value of Defense Stock Fund inventories as of 30 June 1966 totaled $1,994 million, an increase of $17 million for the year. During the year, sales exceeded receipts at standard price by $107 million, transfers to property disposal were $39 million and net issues without reimbursement were $1 million. These were more than offset by net capitalizations of $55 million and material returns of $120 million. On the basis of stratified stocks, comparison with 30 June 1965 shows that the single decrease occurred in the clothing and textiles category (off $187 million). Subsistence was up $62 million; construction supplies, $14 million; medical material, $16 million; industrial supplies,

$6 million; and general supplies, $12 million. Electronic supplies inventories were unchanged. In the clothing, industrial, construction, and electronic supplies sales exceeded receipts; for medical, subsistence, and general supplies this was not so.

Table 41 and Chart 12 show the stratification of the inventory of the Defense Supply Agency as of 30 June 1966. This year, in-transit stocks, those with contractors, those temporarily in use, and other stocks are stratified against the Approved Force (PTFMR Acquisition
