Mr. ASPIN (for himself and Mr. DICKINSON) (both by request) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services

A BILL

To authorize appropriations for fiscal years 1990 and 1991 for military functions of the Department of Defense and to prescribe military personnel levels for such Department for fiscal years 1990 and 1991, and for other purposes.

1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the "Department of Defense

5 Authorization Act, 1990/1991".

TITLE III-OPERATION AND

MAINTENANCE

10 SEC. 301. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE FUNDING.

11 (a) FISCAL YEAR 1990.-Funds are hereby authorized 12 to be appropriated for fiscal year 1990 for the use of the 13 Armed Forces of the United States and other activities and 14 agencies of the Department of Defense for expenses, not oth15 erwise provided for, for operation and maintenance, in 16 amounts as follows:
