Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 3 That this Act shall be known as the "Rehabilitation Act 4 Amendments of 1974". 5 6 REHABILITATION SERVICES ADMINISTRATION SEC. 2. (a) The first sentence of section 3 (a) of the 7 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is amended to read as follows: 8 "There is established in the Office of the Secretary a Rehabil9 itation Services Administration which shall be headed by a 10 Commissioner (hereafter in this Act referred to as the 'Com11 missioner') appointed by the President.". 12 (b) Section 3 (a) of such Act is amended by inserting 13 after the second sentence thereof the following new sentence: 2 1 "In the performance of his functions, the Commissioner shall 2 be directly responsible to the Office of the Secretary.". 3 EXTENSION OF VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES 4 5 by 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 SEC. 3. (a) Section 100 (b) of such Act is amended (1) striking out "and" after "1974," in paragraph of such paragraph the following: ", and $720,000,000 (2) striking out "and" after "1974,” in paragraph for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1976,". (b) Section 112 (a) of such Act is amended by striking 15 out "and" after "1974," and by inserting after "1975," 16 the following: "and up to $2,500,000 but no less than 17 $1,000,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1976,". (c) Section 121 (b) of such Act is amended by striking 18 19 out "1976" and inserting in lieu thereof "1977”. EXTENSION OF RESEARCH AND TRAINING ASSISTANCE 22 by 23 24 SEC. 4. (a) Section 201 (a) (1) of such Act is amended (1) striking out "and" after "1974," in the first sentence thereof and inserting after "1975" the fol 3 1 3 4 5 6 66 lowing: ", and $30,000,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1976", and (2) inserting after "respectively," in the last sen tence thereof the following: "and 25 per centum of the amounts appropriated in the third such fiscal year,". (b) Section 201 (a) (2) of such Act is amended by 7 inserting after "1975" the following: ", and $30,000,000 8 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1976". Section 301 (a) of such Act is amended by- (2) striking out "1977" in the last sentence of such section, and inserting in lieu thereof "1978". EXTENSION OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING SERVICES FOR HANDICAPPED INDIVIDUALS 20 SEC. 6. Section 302 (a) of such Act is amended by strik21 ing out "and" after "1974," and by inserting after "1975" 22 the following: ", and June 30, 1976". 23 EXTENSION OF SPECIAL PROJECTS AND DEMONSTRATIONS 24 SEC. 7. Section 304 (a) (1) of such Act is amended by 25 striking out "and" after "1974," and by inserting after 4 1 "1975" the following: ", and $20,000,000 for the fiscal 2 year ending June 30, 1976". 3 EXTENSION OF ASSISTANCE TO NATIONAL CENTER FOR 4 5 DEAF-BLIND YOUTHS AND ADULTS SEC. 8. Section 305 (a) of such Act is amended by 6 striking out "and" after "1974," and by inserting after 7 "1975" the following: ", and June 30, 1976". 8 9 10 EXTENSION OF AUTHORIZATION FOR PROGRAM AND PROJECT EVALUATIONS SEC. 9. Section 403 of such Act is amended by striking 11 out "and" after "1974," and by inserting after "1975," 12 the following: "and June 30, 1976,". 13 14 15 EXTENSION OF AUTHORIZATION FOR CARRYING OUT SECRETARIAL RESPONSIBILITIES SEC. 10. Section 405 (d) of such Act is amended by in16 serting before the period at the end thereof the following: 17", and $500,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1976". 18 19 20 EXTENSION OF AUTHORIZATION FOR ARCHITECTURAL AND TRANSPORTATION BARRIERS COMPLIANCE BOARD SEC. 11.
