(1) Have a background of practical

agriculture experience.

(2) Be shall be a graduate in

vocational agriculture from

an institution approved by

the State Board to train

teachers of vocational

agriculture.

(3) He shall hold a valid

teachers certificate for

vocational agriculture.

1.53-22 Instructor of Supplemental Subjects (a) Instructors of Supplemental

subjects shall teach such units

as may be designated by the course

outline designed to develop

skills and competencies in his

field of specialization.

(b) Instructors of supplemental

subjects shall:

(1) Have at least a Bachelor's

degree from an approved

college or university.

(2) He must have completed at
least 12 semester hours in

the subject matter area in

employed agriculture teacher with

special units of instruction, lay

skilled workers may be employed for

specified periods of time.

1.53-24 Coordinator of Work-Experience Program (a) The coordinator of the work

experience program shall super-
vise and direct the activities

in this area and perform such
other duties as may be assigned

by the State Director of

Vocational Agriculture.

(b) His qualifications shall be the

same as those for the teacher

of vocational agriculture. In
addition he shall have had or

be required to take such courses

as may be prescribed by the State Director of Vocational Agriculture.

1.53-3 Distributive Education

1.53-31 (a) Distributive education teachers

shall recruit students, organize,

teach and direct programs in the

distributive occupations under

assemble materials, conduct train

ing programs, and supervise all groups of students with occupational objectives in the field of distribution of goods and services. They shall promote cooperative relationships with trade and civic groups. They shall organize and supervise chapters of Distributive Education Clubs of America where

feasible.

(b) Full-time teacher coordinators of

part-time cooperative programs

shall:

(1) Be a graduate of a recognized

institution with at least 18

hours in technical and profes

sional subjects, including

practice teaching. Technical

subjects shall be allied to

field of distribution, including

such subjects as accounting

(not more than three hours),

business organization and

management, marketing,

retailing, economics,

advertising, sales promotion,

display, personnel management and business law (not more than three hours). They shall have two years of practical experience in distributive occupations which shall be evaluated by the director of distributive education and the supervisor of

teacher training.

(a) She shall have a Bachelor's degree

in home economics from an institu

tion approved for vocational

education in home economics. She

shall meet the certification

requirements for home economics

teachers as outlined by the State
Department of Education or if she
has a valid Louisiana teacher's
certificate but is not a graduate
of an institution with an approved
home economics education curriculum,
she may become certified to teach

in reimbursed programs by completing
additional study in an institution

with an approved home economics

education curriculum.

(b) Home economics teachers professional and in-service training programs shall be planned with the assistance of the director of home economics, State Department of Education and the supervisor of teacher training.

1.53-42 Home economics teacher for gainful

employment home economics programs.

(a) Teachers may be selected from:
