institution, eighteen (18) of which must be in
vocational-industrial education. His experience
shall be the same as 1.53-51 or 1.53-53 or a
ninimum of three (3) years of experience in
general office work, general office management
preferred. He shall have had at least three (3)
years of experience as a teacher of approved

trade classes or preparatory commercial vocational
classes which meet the 'standards of the State

Plan. He shall have at least two (2) years of

experience in a responsible supervisory or adminis

trative capacity.

(b) Area Vocational-Technical School Coordinator

(Assistant Director)

The duties of the coordinator are the same as
1.52(a) but performed under the supervision of
the director. He shall have a Bachelor's degree
from an approved four (4) year college or university

and have a valid teaching certificate in vocational

education. His work experience and teaching

experience shall be the same as 1.52(a).

(c) Local Director or Supervisor

The duties of the local director or supervisor

shall be the same as those for the vocationaltechnical school director as indicated in 1.52(a).

'1.53 Instructional Personnel

1.53-1 Office Occupations

1.53-11 Intensive Business and Office Occupa

tions Instructors

(a) Instructors in intensive business

and office occupations shall teach

courses in Business Principles

and Technical Occupational

Specialties. They shall conduct

and supervise specialized projects

and work experience programs

designed to lead to vocational

competency in their field. They

shall prepare subject matter

materials and teaching aids and

perform such other duties as

may be designated by their

principals and supervisors.

(b) Minimum Qualifications

(1) Business and office occupa

tions instructors shall have

at least a Bachelor's degree

business administration with

emphasis on business and

office occupations from an

approved college or university.

(2) He shall have a valid

Louisiana Business or Occupa

tion Education teaching

certificate.

(3) He shall have had a minimum

of fifteen hundred (1500)

hours of employment in

business and/or office

occupations.

1.53-12 Evening and Part-time Extension

Instructors

(a) Instructors in Evening and Part

time Extension shall organize

and teach courses in office

Occupations designed to extend
the technical knowledge and/or

broaden the skills of workers

engaged in business and office

Occupations.

(b) Minimum Qualifications

(1) He shall be a high school

graduate with at least six

employment experience in

business and office occupa

tions. At least one year of

this experience must have

been gained within the last

five (5) years prior to

employment.

(2) He shall take such teacher

training courses as may be

prescribed by the State

Department of Education.

1.53-2 Vocational Agriculture

1.53-21 Regular teachers

(a) Regular vocational agriculture
teachers shall organize, teach

and supervise classes for youth,
young farmers, adults and other
persons engaged in or preparing
for occupations in agricultural
production or for those occupa-
tions involving knowledge and
skills in agricultural subjects.

They shall prepare or revise annual programs of work based on the needs and vocational objectives of their

students. They shall organize

the Future Farmers of America and

assist them in developing and

conducting meaningful programs of

work.

Regular vocational agriculture

teachers shall prepare and

regularly revise course outlines

in the fields of plant and animal

science, agri-business, and farm

mechanics. He shall prepare

subject matter materials and

teaching aids for each instruc

tional area. He shall enter into

cooperative agreements with

business and management to provide

work experiences for those students

with occupational objectives in

related fields and supervise

their activities. He shall visit

and direct the Supervised Farming programs of those students preparing to farm and perform such other duties as may be assigned

by his principal and supervisors. (b) Regular vocational agriculture
