Plans are to employ vocational

agriculture and home economics teachers to set up a pilot program for 20 students who are slow learners in the Covington area.

These individuals will have approximately an 80 IQ.

not employed necessarily to teach students with special needs but to help other teachers in identifying and working with special needs students. The state supervisor has designed a reporting form both for a class which may be conducted for persons with special needs and also to identify individuals who may be identified in specific classes.

(3) Vocational Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, and the Department of Corrections are conducting a joint program at the LaGrange Reformatory for persons who have been sentenced to

a short term in order that they can be given vocational training that will help them get and hold a job after they have been released. It is anticipated that five new teachers will be

Occupational offerings offered

at the Reformatory will be auto mechanics, electricity, building
