CONSULAR AGENTS

CONVENTION RELATING TO CONSULAR OFFICERS, ADOPTED AT THE SIXTH INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE AMERICAN STATES AT HABANA, 1928

Mexico. Under date of December 16, 1929, the Ambassador of Mexico in the United States, Señor Don Manuel C. Téllez, transmitted to the Pan American Union, for deposit in the archives of the Union, the instrument of ratification on the part of the United Mexican States of the convention on consular agents signed in the city of Habana, February 20, 1928.

The decree of ratification issued by the President of the United Mexican States bears the date of November 1, 1929.

AGREEMENT COVERING THE ERECTION OF
MEMORIALS IN BELGIUM

On January 11, 1930, the President of the United States ratified and confirmed the agreement between the Governments of the United. States and Belgium covering the erection by the American Battle. Monuments Commission of certain memorials in Belgium in accordance with and by authority of the Act of Congress of the United States approved March 4, 1923, entitled "An act for the creation of an American Battle Monuments Commission to erect suitable memorials commemorating the services of the American soldier in Europe, and for other purposes," signed at Paris, October 4, 1929, by Gen. John J. Pershing of the American Battle Monuments Commission and Baron E. de Gaiffier d'Nestroy, Belgian Ambassador in Paris.

MIXED COURTS OF EGYPT

Egypt. On January 20, 1930, the Egyptian Government selected Mr. Julian Wright of New York City, as one of the foreign judges on the Mixed Court of First Instance, at Cairo, to fill the vacancy

caused by the promotion of a Swiss judge to the Mixed Court of Appeals.

Mr. Wright is the fourth American judge now sitting on the Egyptian Mixed Courts, which were established in 1876 to hear civil and commercial cases between foreigners of different nationalities or between foreigners and Egyptians.

PUBLICATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE

All requests for publications of the Department of State should be addressed to the Superintendent of Documents, Government Printing Office, Washington, D. C. The Superintendent of Documents will accept deposits against which the cost of publications ordered may be charged and will notify the depositor when the deposit is exhausted. The cost to depositors of a complete set of the publications of the Department for a year will probably be somewhat in excess of $10. However, anyone may place orders with the Superintendent of Documents for a single series, as well as for single publications.
