H.R. 17566, TO REAUTHORIZE THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR TO CONSTRUCT, OPERATE, AND MAINTAIN THE NARROWS UNIT, SOUTH PLATTE DIVISION, MISSOURI RIVER BASIN PROJECT, COLORADO, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1968

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES,

SUBCOMMITTEE ON IRRIGATION AND RECLAMATION,
OF THE COMMITTEE ON INTERIOR AND INSULAR AFFAIRS,

Fort Morgan, Colo. The subcommittee met, pursuant to call, at 9:30 a.m., in the auditorium of the REA Building, Fort Morgan, Colo., Representative Harold T. Johnson (chairman of the subcommittee) presiding.

He is just one place below the subcommittee chairmen on the committee; that's an indication of his seniority. Morris K. Udall from Arizona.

To his left, another relatively newcomer to the Congress of the United States and from that great southwestern portion of that great State of Texas. I told him the other night that Colorado was the only part that was really able to secede effectively from Texas. This gentleman is interested in natural resources development, also a very effective member of our committee, the Honorable Richard White of Texas.

Then to the immediate right of the subcommittee chairman is a newcomer to Congress, finishing his first term. He has already made a very fine and effective record in the Congress and on our committee, repre
