NOTE.-Henry H. Haight and George M. Hardwick died before the assembling of the Convention, and Thomas Morris resigned the first day of the session; on October 5, 1878, the Convention elected J. West Martin, J. M. Strong, and S. B. Thompson, respectively, to fill the vacancies thus created; Bernard F. Kenny died November 21, 1878, and on December 19, 1878, J. J. Kenny was elected by the Convention as his successor; J. M. Strong died November 19, 1878, and W. J. Howard was elected by the Convention to succeed him, on December 18, 1878.
