Redesignation Table

The Department of Education Organization Act (Pub. L. 96-88) established
the Department of Education (ED) as a new executive department.

On May 9, 1980 (45 FR 30802), the following parts were added to Title 34:
(a) Subtitle A consists of Parts 4, 5, 5b, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15, 17, 30, 35, 50, 63,
64, 67, 73, 74, and 79.

(b) Chapter I consists of Parts 100, 101, 104, and 106.

On November 21, 1980 (45 FR 77368), various parts appearing in Title 24,
Chapter II, and Title 45, Chapters I, XIII, XIV, and XV, were transferred into
Title 34 and redesignated. The following table shows the old part numbers as
they appear in Titles 24 and 45 and the new part numbers as they appear in
Title 34.

Title 34, Government Management was vacated and existing regulations transferred to Title 5, Part 1310, at 44 FR 60286, Oct. 19, 1979.

All sections in former Title 34 of the Code of Federal Regulations which were affected by documents published in the Federal Register since December 7, 1973, are enumerated in the following list. Entries indicate the nature of changes effected. Page numbers refer to FEDERAL REGISTER pages. The user should consult the entries for chapters and parts as well as sections for revisions.
