A BILL

To require that Presidential primaries or caucuses be held only during the period beginning on the second Tuesday in March and ending on the second Tuesday in June of the Presidential election.

1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa

2 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law,

4 a Presidential primary with respect to an election of the

5 President of the United States may only be held—

(1) in the year of such election, and

(2) during the period beginning on the second

Tuesday in March and ending on the second Tuesday

in June.

SEC. 2. As used in this Act, the term "Presidential pri5 mary" means a primary, caucus, convention, or other means 6 of selecting a candidate for the Office of the President of the 7 United States, except that such term does not mean a nation8 al nominating convention of a political party.

9 SEC. 3. The Attorney General of the United States is 10 authorized and directed to institute any civil action for in11 junctive relief as may be appropriate to assure compliance 12 with this Act. Such action may be instituted in any district 13 court of the United States for any district where such relief is 14 required to assure compliance with this Act.

SEC. 4. This Act shall apply to Presidential primaries
