AUTHORIZING THE PRINTING AS A HOUSE DOCUMENT OF HOUSE HEARINGS ON SCIENCE AND STRATEGIES FOR NATIONAL SECURITY IN THE 1970'S

REPORT

[To accompany H. Con. Res. 338]

The Committee on Rules and Administration, to which was referred the concurrent resolution (H. Con. Res. 338) authorizing the printing as a House document of House hearings on science and strategies for national security in the 1970's, having considered the same, reports favorably thereon without amendment and recommends that the concurrent resolution be agreed to.

House Concurrent Resolution 338 would provide (1) that the document entitled "Strategy and Science: Toward a National Security Policy for the 1970's," hearings by the Subcommittee on National Security Policy and Scientific Developments, dated April 27, 1969, be printed as a House document; and (2) that there be printed 3,000 additional copies of such document for the use of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The printing-cost estimate, supplied by the Public Printer, is as follows:

PROVIDING FOR THE PRINTING OF COPIES OF THE EULOGIES ON DWIGHT DAVID EISENHOWER

OCTOBER 15, 1969.-Ordered to be printed

Mr. JORDAN of North Carolina, from the Committee on Rules and Administration, submitted the following

REPORT

[To accompany H. Con. Res. 368]

The Committee on Rules and Administration, to which was referred the concurrent resolution (H. Con. Res. 368) providing for the printing of copies of the eulogies on Dwight David Eisenhower, having considered the same, reports favorably thereon with an amendment and recommends that the concurrent resolution as amended be agreed to. House Concurrent Resolution 368 would provide that there be printed with illustrations as a House document a compilation of the eulogies on the late Dwight David Eisenhower delivered in the Congress; the eulogy delivered by President Nixon and the benediction by the Reverend Dr. Elson in the rotunda of the Capitol on Sunday, March 30, 1969; the text of the funeral service at the Washington Cathedral on Monday, March 31, 1969; and the text of appropriate eulogies, messages, prayers, and scriptural selections delivered at the funeral services at Abilene, Kans., April 2, 1969. There would be printed 32,250 additional copies of such document, of which 21,950 copies would be for the use of the House of Representatives (50 per Member) and 10,300 copies would be for the use of the Senate (100 per Member).

The copy would be prepared and bound in such style as directed by the Joint Committee on Printing. Copies of the document would be prorated to Members of the House of Representatives and the Senate for a period of 60 days, after which the unused balances would be distributed by the respective House and Senate document rooms.

The Committee on Rules and Administration has amended House Concurrent Resolution 368 to correct a minor clerical error.

AUTHORIZING THE PRINTING OF A LIST OF PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION AS A SENATE DOCUMENT

OCTOBER 15, 1969.-Ordered to be printed

Mr. JORDAN of North Carolina, from the Committee on Rules and Administration, submitted the following

REPORT

[To accompany S. Res. 261]

The Committee on Rules and Administration, to which was referred the resolution (S. Res. 261) authorizing the printing of a list of proposed amendments to the Constitution as a Senate document, having considered the same, reports favorably thereon without amendment and recommends that the resolution be agreed to.

. Senate Resolution 261 would provide (1) that there be printed as a Senate document a list of proposed amendments to the Constitution of the United States of America submitted during the 88th Congress, first session, through the 90th Congress, second session, as compiled by the Senate Library, under the direction of the Secretary of the Senate, and (2) that 1,500 additional copies of such document be printed for the use of the Secretary of the Senate.

A compilation of proposed amendments to the Constitution of the United States introduced in Congress from the 67th Congress through the 87th Congress is printed as Senate Document 163 of the 87th Congress. The listing proposed to be printed by Senate Resolution 261 would supplement that material and bring the listing of proposed amendments current up to the commencement of the present Congress.
