MICHIGAN STATE DENTAL SOCIETY.

The Michigan State Dental Society will hold its Annual Meeting at Grand Rapids, April 15. 16, 17.

The Meeting will rank second to none ever held in the state. Herman Prinz, D. D. S., M. D., Professor of Materia Medica, Philadelphia, Pa., will be our guest of honor, and will give an illustrative lecture on Local Anesthesia. Dr. A. S. Warthin of the University of Michigan, Dr. J. H. Kellog, of Battle Creek, and others have promised papers. One session will be devoted to progressive Clinics, and one session to regular Clinics. The Manufacturer's Exhibits will be many and complete.

Dr. Edwin J. Chamberlain, of Grand Rapids, will reserve space upon request, and Dr. O. W. White, Fine Arts Bldg., Detroit, will mail programs to nonmembers upon request.

TION.

The annual meeting of the North Dakota State Dental Association will be held in Fargo Tuesday and Wednesday, May 11th and 12th.

TEXAS STATE DENTAL ASSOCIATION

The thirty-fifth annual meeting of the Texas State Dental Association will be held in Galveston May 19, 20, 21 and 22, 1915. The special feature of this meeting will be post graduate lectures and clinic work.

Dr. G. Walter Ditmar, of Chicago, will present modern scientific bridge work and removable partial dentures, with

preparations, technique and principles involved. Dr. B. F. Thielen will present "Plate Work;" Dr. T. G. Duckworth, "Orthodontia;" Dr. R. D. Griffis, "Nitrous Oxide Analgesia and Anesthesia;" Dr. Julian Smith, "Pyorrhea;" Dr. J. M. Murphy, "Local Anesthesia."

NOTICE OF MEETING OF KANSAS STATE DENTAL ASSOCIATION.

The Kansas State Dental Association will hold its next annual meeting at Topeka, April 27th, 28th and 29th. An interesting and instructive program is assured. Dr. Hinman, of Atlanta, Ga., will be present and give lectures and clinics, probably on Crown and Bridgework. He is, however, a specialist on all subjects of interest to the profession and will give talks on anything you call for. Dr. E. A. Westenhaver, of Kansas City, will demonstrate and lecture on Anatomical Antagonization. Dr. Martin Dewey will give illustrated lectures, one of which will be a laity number.

ATION.

The next meeting of the South Carolina Dental Association will be held in Columbia, South Carolina, Jefferson Hotel, April 27-30.

It was first announced that we would have it April 13-16, but this has been changed thru courtesy to the Southern States Musical Festival.

ARKANSAS STATE DENTAL ASSOCIATION.

"The Arkansas State Dental Association will hold its annual meeting in the Marion Hotel, Little Rock, Arkansas, on May 13, 14, 15, 1915. We have arranged with the management of the Hotel Marion, for a private convention hall that will be absolutely quiet, and will be free from the many interruptions that hereto-fore interfered with our papers, discussions and clinics. We earnestly urge every member to be present, as this year we elect the members of the State Board of Dental Examiners according to the specifications of our new Dental law, which goes into effect June 1st, 1915. An instructive and entertaining program is promised.

INDIANA STATE DENTAL ASSOCIA

TION.

The Indiana State Dental Association will hold its Fifty-seventh Annual Meeting at the Claypool Hotel, Indianapolis, on May 18, 19, 20, 1915. A distinctive feature of this meeting is that the program will be made up exclusively of Indiana dentists. IOWA STATE DENTAL SOCIETY.

The Iowa State Dental Society will hold its fifty-third annual meeting at Waterloo, Ia., May 4, 5, 6 and will present a well arranged literary and clinical program. This Society is a component of the National Dental Association and any member of the latter organization

The Kentucky State Dental Association will hold its 46th Annual Meeting, June 8th, 9th and 10th, 1915, at Ashland. It will be conducted along the lines of Progressive Clinics. Arrangements have already been completed for a successful meeting.

MASSACHUSETTS DENTAL SOCIETY.

The fifty-first annual meeting of the Massachusetts Dental Society will be held at the Hotel Somerset, Boston, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, May 5, 6 and 7.

HE correct interpretation of a Roentgenogram is dependent upon one or all of the following details: The angle at which it is taken. The amount of distortion.

The correct time of exposure and proper development.

Comparison of the Radiographic and clinical findings.

In dentistry, with its field sharply confined to a small and superficial area, we are able to apply a standard technique; whereas radiography, as it is practised by the medical profession, with deepseated areas for investigation, presents It is our good far greater difficulties. fortune to escape many, if not all of these discouragements, because the object is placed next to the plate.

In advocating the acquirement of an exact technique in this work, I do so in the belief that our efforts will be more successful and dependable.

In order that a dental radiograph, or any radiograph for that matter, may contain the elements for a correct interpretation, it must be taken by one fully conversant with the results desired. In other words, the operator must have knowledge of the clinical phase in order to apply the technique necessary to demonstrate the condition, if present in the radiograph.

Radiographs often present a good gross picture, but fail in the detail necessary for a finer definition.

This is apparent in many cases of abscesses, and more particularly in necrosed teeth. That much of this distortion may be minimized, or absolutely prevented, an exact technique will be demonstrated, which has in a very substantial manner proven satisfactory.

In all radiographic work, for that matter in all picture work, the first desideratum is immobility of the patient. This
