By direction of the Secretary of War, officers of the regular establishment holding higher commissions in the Volunteer Army will on each pay voucher or roll state the organization to which they belong in the Regular Army. Officers of volunteers claiming increased pay for prior service, whether in the Regular or Volunteer Army, or both, will on each pay voucher or roll state the organizations in which such prior service was rendered and the period of service in each.

When payment is made on Form 3, the statement of prior service will appear under the caption, "salary for over years' service;" when paid on rolls prior service will be entered in "Remarks" column.

The following decision has been made and is published to the Army for the information of all concerned :

SHAPE OF CAMPAIGN HATS. The object of that part of General Orders, No. 128, July 10, 1899, from this office, amending paragraph 46 of the Regulations and Decisions pertaining to the Uniform of the Army of the United States (3d edition, 1899), as relates to the wearing of campaign hats in their original shape, was to bring about a uniform wearing of the The military shape referred to therein is shown in the accompanying illustration of the standard hat.-[Decision Sec.
