The State Engineer Inspector's office was established in June 1934. From June 1933 to June 1934 the work was carried on through the State Director's office by appropriations of the National Industrial Recovery Act. After invalidation of that Act, appropriations were provided through the Emergency Relief Appropriation Act, approved April 3, 1935. occupied the United States Courthouse and Federal Building, at Pennsylvania and Ohio Streets from June 1934 to January 1935; the Electric Building, Monument Circle, January 1935 to June 1935, when it moved to its present location. All reports are sent to the Inspection Division, Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works in Washington.
