About the author (1992)

Ben Carson worked as a doctor for more than thirty-five years. He recently retired as the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is currently a Washington Times columnist and FOX News contributor. He is the author or co-author of several books including Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story, America the Beautiful: Rediscovering What Made This Nation Great, One Nation: What We Can All Do to Save America's Future, and A More Perfect Union: What We the People Can Do to Reclaim Our Constitutional Liberties. He and his wife Candy Carson founded the Carson Scholars Fund, dedicated to recognizing the academic achievements of deserving young people. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor in the country. Cecil Murphey is the author of articles in Writer's Digest, Christianity Today, Charisma, Ministry, and These Days, among others, and author of the Dictionary of Christian Marriage, Dictionary of Biblical Literacy, and Gifted hands.
