CAMPGROUND FEE LEGISLATION

SUBCOMMITTEE ON NATIONAL PARKS AND RECREATION
OF THE COMMITTEE ON INTERIOR AND INSULAR AFFAIRS,

Washington, D.C. The subcommittee met, pursuant to notice, at 10:10 a.m., in room 1324, Longworth House Office Building, the Hon. Roy A. Taylor (chairman of the subcommittee), presiding.

Mr. TAYLOR. The Subcommittee on National Parks and Recreation will come to order.

The business before the subcommittee today is the consideration of further legislation relating to the collection of fees for special outdoor recreation facilities at various areas administered by Federal agencies. Now, we have before us today three bills, S. 2844, a bill that has been approved by the Senate; H.R. 11921, a bill by Congressman Talcott; and H.R. 13913, a bill by Congressman Dellenback.

In the absence of objection copies of these bills, and copies of the Departmental report will be placed in the record at this point. [The bills and Departmental report are as follows:]

To amend the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act, as amended, to provide for collection of special recreation use fees at additional campgrounds, and for other purposes.

4 Act of 1965 (78 Stat. 789), as amended (16 U.S.C. 40016a), is further amended as follows;

(a) The heading of the section is revised to read:

"ADMISSION AND USE FEES; ESTABLISHMENT AND

REGULATIONS".

(b) The second sentence of section 4 (a) is amended to
