the registrant but shall take the necessary steps for the
correction of his condition as outlined in part 661. The
local board clerk should mail such a registrant a Notice
to Registrant of Result of Physical Examination by the
Armed Forces (Form 202).

(b) The local board shall complete Section V of the Report of Physical Examination and Induction (Form 221) by filling in the applicable items. It shall then check pages 1, 2, 3, and 4 through Section V to make certain that all entries have been completed on the original of the Report of Physical Examination and Induction (Form 221) and that all such information has been correctly transcribed on the copies thereof.

(c) When the examining station of the armed forces finds that the registrant is physically and mentally qualified for general military service, or that he is physically and mentally qualified for general military service after correction of remedial defects, or that he is physically and mentally qualified for general military service except that his serological test is not negative, it will return the original and all copies of the Report of Physical Examination and Induction (Form 221) to the local board. The original and all copies of the Report of Physical Examination and Induction (Form 221) will be retained by the local board in the registrant's Cover Sheet (Form 53) until the registrant is forwarded for induction into the land or naval forces in the manner provided in part 633.

(d) When the examining station of the armed forces finds that the registrant is physically qualified for limited military service only or that he is physically qualified for limited military service after the satisfactory correction of remediable defects or that he is physically, mentally, or otherwise disqualified for military service, it will retain the Surgeon General's Copy of the Report of Physical Examination and Induction (Form 221) and will return the Armed Forces' Original, the National Headquarters' Copy, and the Local Board's Copy of such report to the local board. The local board shall then file the Armed Forces' Original and the Local Board's Copy in the registrant's Cover Sheet (Form 53) and transmit the National Headquarters' Copy to the State Director of Selective Service, who shall forward such copy to the Director of Selective Service.

PART 631-QUOTAS AND CREDITS

631.1 Quota basis.

631.2 Credit.

631.1 Quota basis. (a) The national quota basis is the total number of registrants liable for training and service, not inducted, who, upon proper classification, are now classified in or will hereafter be classified in Class I-A and Class I-A-O, plus the total of the credits for all States.

(b) The State quota basis is the total number of registrants liable for training and service, not inducted, who, upon proper classification, are now classified in or will hereafter be classified in Class I-A and Class I-A-O in all of the local boards of the State, plus the credit for the State.

(c) The local board quota basis is the total number of registrants of the local board liable for training and service, not inducted, who, upon proper classification are now classified in or will hereafter be classified in Class I-A and Class I-A-O, plus the credit for the local board.

(d) When specifically prescribed by the Director of Selective Service, the national, State, or local board quota basis may include the registrants classified in any of the other classes.

631.2 Credit. The credit for any subdivision is:

(1) The total number of registrants of the subdivision who have been classified in Class I-C by reason of their induction into the land or naval forces through the Selective Service System, plus

(2) The total number of registrants and nonregistrants from the subdivision known by the Director of Selective Service to have been members of the land or naval forces on November 30, 1940, or to have thereafter become members of such forces other than by induction through the Selective Service System, less

(3) The total number of such men who, after becoming members of the land or naval forces, have been or are hereafter separated therefrom by resignation or dismissal at any time; by discharge dated prior to December 8, 1941, for any cause; or by discharge dated on or after December 8, 1941, for any cause other than physical disability.

631.3 Quota percentage. (a) The State quota percentage is the ratio of the State quota basis to the national quota basis, expressed in percentage.

(b) The local board quota percentage is the ratio of the local board quota basis to the State quota basis, expressed in percentage.
