A minimum of 3 years as teacher, princi supervisor, guidance worker, social worker, child welfare worker, clinician, vi ing teacher, or equivalent, is necessary. Varied experience in several fields desirable. ... Personality: A record of exceptional success with respect to social sensitiv insight into behavior motivation, and in stimulating cooperation . . . highly spected as a person, and accepted by teachers, parents, pupils, and other pu and private child welfare organizations in the community. Certificate: Have or be eligible for a Michigan life, provisional, perman teacher's certificate or other certificate approved by the State Board of Ed tion. Education: A.B. degree. An M.A. degree is desirable. At least 30 seme hours of credits in designated subjects are required. If no fully qualified teacher can be secured, one who is partially qualified may appointed on a year to year basis if first approved by the Superintendent of Pul Instruction. New Jersey. The "visiting teacher certificate" authorizes the holder to serve visiting teacher in any school district of the State. Requirements include: Education: (1) Graduation from an approved college, and (2) 16 additi credits in approved courses with an emphasis on the psychiatric social fie including 10 weeks of supervised field practice in visiting teacher service schools. Experience: Three years successful teaching experience. For 1 year teaching experience a year of approved social work experience may be substit Permanent certificate: Evidence of 3 years of successful visiting teacher e perience in public schools in New Jersey subsequent to the issuance of the limit visiting teacher's certificate. Visiting teachers now in service: Any person who was employed as a visiti teacher in New Jersey public schools prior to November 4, 1939, and who hol a valid New Jersey teacher's certificate, will upon application receive a limit visiting teacher's certificate. Such application must be made and filed prior t February 1, 1941.
