RICHARD CABOT CLINIC EXPANSION

The available space at Richard Cabot Clinic would be expanded by 2,010 square feet to enable the clinic to provide more out-patient services. Maximum employment opportunities in the clinic construction would be given to Model Neighborhood residents, and the Richard Cabot Club's corporate board would be fully representative of the Model Neighborhood's ethnic and racial groups. Model Cities would provide $88,440.

LAND ACQUISITION FOR

HOUSING DEVELOPMENT: ATTUCKS EAST

Model Cities funding of $700,000 would help the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority assemble a large tract of land for a housing development in the Attucks East Area (Area 2C). After the land is acquired, 72 families and five business would be relocated. Finally, several agencies, including Model Cities and the Housing Development Corporation, would coordinate a redevelopment plan, select private developers, and monitor the completion of the project. Total initial cost is $895,000.

What opportunity will Model Neighborhood residents have to obtain employment at all levels of the project? How many residents will be employed?

The proposals will be reviewed by NPG task force committees set up in the areas of Housing; Health; Social Services (including crime and justice, recreation and culture, and day care); Municipal Services and Transportation; Economic Development and Manpower; and Special Services (aging and job training).

These committees will include representatives of each planning group, appropriate agency representatives, and other interested persons.
