Salaries and expenses: For all necessary expenses of the Office of Civilian Defense, including salary of the Director at not to exceed $10,000 per annum; traveling expenses (not to exceed [$550,000] $150,300); [and] printing and binding (not to exceed [$200,000); $4,000,000 $13,000); and $500,500 for storage, care, transportation, and inspection of property purchased from funds appropriated to the Office of Civilian Defense; $1,139,000 (Act of July 12, 1943, Public Law 139).

Civilian Defense, Office for Emergency Management

[Civilian Defense: Not to exceed $10,500,000 of the unexpended balance of $100,000,000 contained in the First Deficiency Appropriation Act, 1942, is hereby continued available until June 30, 1944, for the same objects and purposes, including the obligations chargeable to said appropriation, and subject to the same conditions and limitations: Provided, That the total amount available for administrative expenses for the fiscal year 1944 shall not exceed $700,000] (Act of July 12, 1949, Public Law 139).

NOTE.—Appropriation under above title has been transferred to and consolidated under “Salaries and expenses, Office of Civilian Defense."

The (appropriations] appropriation herein made for the Office of Civilian Defense shall constitute the total amount to be available for obligation by such agency during the fiscal year (1944] 1945 and shall not be supplemented by funds from any Federal source (Act of July 12, 1943, Public Law 199).
