Hambriabt First Session he first session of the State Legislature was held at the Capitol at Madison, on Monday, the fifth day of June, A. D, 1848, pursuant to the Constitution, which had been adopted by a large majority of the people. The apportionment of Senators and Representatives was under Constitutional provisions, until otherwise declared by law. It convened June 5, 1848, and adjourned August 21, 1848, seventy eight days. There were eighty-five members. Second Session - Convened on the 10th of January, 1849, and adjourned April 2, 1849, eightythree days, eighty-five members. Third Session Convened January 9, and adjourned February 11, 1850, thirty-four days, eighty-five members. |
