Previously I was an Environmental Scientist at the Environmental Protection Agency, where I was the lead author of the Draft Report to Congress Policy Options for Stabilizing Global Climate.

These so-called box-diffusion models contain highly simplified physics but give similar results to GCMs when globally averaged.
